When I started my new job, I needed some new clothes because the majority of wardrobe is jeans and T-shirts. I really didn’t have any fancy pants … I have two but they don’t fit me well anymore. Boo to that. But that’s not the point. So I found some nice pants for work except that one of them is dark brown. What goes with dark brown pants? A nice striped shirt that has hints of brown would work nicely except that I can’t find any that I like … a nice white shirt would work too.
Here’s my problem. Most of the shirts that I have tried on are really flimsy … I can see through them. So, I know that with a flimsy, see-through white shirt, I know I can wear a cute tank underneath. I’m a very warm blooded person to begin with … seriously, I am … just ask Charlie. And I’m one of those people who wants to wear just one shirt. That’s it. Sometimes I wear two shirts, but for the most part, I just want to wear one shirt.
Not to mention, I don’t think the rest of the world wants to see my flab through my shirt. What happened to the white shirts that weren’t see through and didn’t require a tank underneath? Whatever happened to a good white shirt? That’s my question for the day. If anyone in the fashion industry is reading my blog (which you probably aren’t because you have better things to do with your time), please bring back the good white shirt. That’s all I ask. Or make more shirt that go with dark brown pants. Thank you.
Don’t you know that the minute you have a specific item in mind to buy, you won’t be able to find it anywhere? It’s just the way the world works.
As for what goes with brown pants, lots! You could try a white shirt with a colored stripe – like pale blue or pink or cream. Or you could just go for a shirt in one of those colors. Or a red shirt. Or a print that includes brown. There are many possible variations. Happy shopping!
Lands End has nice button down dress shirts. They aren’t known for flimsy. Sears sells some LE stuff in the store.
